Protected: Disneysea

I thought I’d update with a fraction of my photos of Japan this long weekend to make up for weekday-hiatuses to come. ;) We went to Disneysea instead of Disneyland as I’ve already been to Disneyland in California. There are many similar rides but the ones in Japan seem shorter and smaller. Love was in the air as Disney prepped itself for Valentine’s day! The park was absolutely beautiful and I pretended I was in Venice and Paris all at the same time!

Couple on a gwendola
One of my favorite photos of an unknowing Japanese couple on the gwendola, they’ve got the best seats for photo taking!

Tulips
They’re not stingy with all these gorgeous tulips…

Tower of Terror
The new Tower of Terror ride that wasn’t that scary after all. :D

If you’re there, I urge you to try the Black Pepper Popcorn! I wonder why nobody thought of that earlier! We had 2 tubs that day! They came in strawberry, chocolate and sea salt flavors too!

Black Pepper Popcorn
Yummy!

Toilets
One of their many themed toilet signs

Something that I bought in Disney, can you guess what is this? Answers and a couple more photos under cut. ;)

Cookies and Fabrics

Author, Craft supplies, Shopping, Websites February 16th, 2008

I met up with dear SYT blackbiscuits yesterday at Plaza Singapura yesterday. We went shopping at Spotlight, the only one left in Singapore. :( It’s terribly messy and I don’t like to shop there but it’s fun when you’ve got good company. :) I learnt about the remnants bin from blackbiscuits and scored a very light blue gingham! I also learnt that the minimum I could buy was 1/4 meter instead of 1/2 meter and bought some light blue gingham for a long overdue craft project.

Cookies & Fabrics
Home-baked cookies with lotsa love

blackbiscuits‘ going back to Melbourne for her studies in 2 weeks. I’m gonna miss her and the yummy stuff she bakes for me whenever we meet up. She even remembers I hate raisins and dislike nuts even though I only told her once a very long time ago; now she makes me my favorite no-nut chocolate chip cookies. This time the cookies are pink inside and there are even heart shaped “rainbow rice”!

On Valentine’s day, I visited Cynthia’s place and she taught me how to make felt beads and beaded hair slides! She so generously gave me a bag of hemp cords and wool for my own crafty projects. I’m going to post again once I’ve finished a felt bead project. Cynthia holds her own beading classes and you can find more details here!

I went home in the evening and prepared pasta salad with soup for a simple Valentine’s day dinner with hubby. It’s a quiet one this year with no lavish gifts because I’m in between jobs and we’re both pretty broke. It’s my first time whipping up pesto pasta salad and I am very happy with how it turned out. I even had a Jamie Oliver moment charring the capsicum over open fire on the stove! He bought me a single stalk of pink rose, it’s the first pink rose I got from him in all these years! It’s sweet, and pink is sweet. I used to looove half-bloomed blue roses, I don’t know why. Now I prefer them champagne, pink or red, and fully bloomed!
