Less than 3 months and it’s bye-bye Moto Q9h, hello SE W910i! :D sorry for the blurry photo!

SE W910i

Busy day going for my pre-employment check-up (read: I hate pee tests), braving the heavy rain and all; bought my new mobile phone and the husband’s getting his tomorrow (belated birthday present); classic manipedi at the usual place - something simple for the first day of work; dinner at “Paradise On Earth” at Katong - steamboat buffet! Cheered me up a lot after staying at home the past couple of days having a liquid diet and then suffering a big fall the day before.

So many things on my to-do list! I have yet to collect my sewing machine which got fixed the first day I arrived in Jakarta; trying to get max combo for all the 4-button songs in DJ Max Portable (a must-play for all Beatmania fans) on the husband’s PSP; starting on Professor Layton and the Curious Village, I’m so glad that they finally released the English version!! There hasn’t been any games worth playing on my DS ever since I completed Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass!

Tomorrow:
♥ Isetan Private Sale - stashing on new OL clothings! Thanks, SP!!
♥ Haircut maybe?
♥ Collect the husband’s new Navigator 6110
♥ Going to JB - meeting my friends for a new freelance project

PhoneBAK SE

Tech December 21st, 2007

Earlier this year, my tablet PC was stolen right under my nose from my access-only office. It was company’s property and I had to pay $1,000 even though technically, it wasn’t my negligence. It was really upsetting; police reports and investigations didn’t help a bit. I wished I had BAK2U back then (especially when I already knew about the service before my tablet got stolen). It’s a really small price to pay for insurance, there’s no subscriptions or annual fees. Prior to that, I left my mobile phone in a cab and sadly, the cab driver/next passenger didn’t return it to me. :(

My worn out unazukin and 2 new MOS burger accessories that my hubby bought for me
(I wanted tomato-chan but it was sold out)

So when BLOG2u ran this PhoneBAK SE (Anti-theft for Sony Ericsson phones) campaign, I was more than happy to try it out.

I should have known better than to “challenge the system” by transferring it the installation files via Bluetooth the first time, then via the phone cable the second. Both resulted in the software working incorrectly. So please follow the instructions and transfer the files to your memory stick only. After transferring the two files (.jar and .jad), run the .jad file to install PhoneBAK.

PhoneBAK has a Data Eraser function which will erase everything from your internal and external phone memory in case of a breach so your contacts and any other personal data will be safe. You can set up to two different numbers to be notified when your phone is misused or stolen, please remember NOT to enter your own mobile number (duh!). I like the fact that I can customize my own warning message to the person who “stole” my phone.

The PDF instructions were not as clear as I’d like but after getting through the initial hiccups, you won’t need to meddle with it anymore.

I’m using a W850i right now and I hope they will release versions for all other brands of mobile phones and iPods soon.
