ステッチ idees vol.5 (JP)
Taking my mind off the books for a bit (cramming for tomorrow’s paper) and fulfilling 01/12 of 2008’s craft book reviews resolutions. Stitch idees vol. 5 has so many inspiring craft ideas in cross-stitch and embroidery, I could have scanned cover to cover! These are some of my favorites.

Here’s another piece of good news, the husband and I will be traveling to JAPAN next week for the first part of our honeymoon! Yes, it’s so exciting and I look forward to taking lots of photos, the onsen, Disneyland/sea, food and shopping, and bringing back some pretty Japanese fabrics for the shop!

This book is a beginner’s guide to making softies that are hug-worthy. The first half of the book is devoted purely to the making of the furry rabbit that you see on the first page inside the book. It is very clear and detailed with lots of photos and cute illustrations to follow through. You may click on the thumbnails to view enlarged pictures of some pages I scanned. |
This book comes with pattern sheets for you to zap and make your own bunnies, as well as variations to make your own cat, dog and bear softies. (I’m personally really only interested in the bunnies though.)

ISBN-10: 0821261959 NLB Call No: English q745.5 HER -[REC] This is a very detailed book with useful and do-able projects that you can make with your favorite photographs. It touches on technical stuff like photo resolution to image-editing essentials, to materials in the form of recipes, as well as easy to understand instructions. My favorite project in this book is this shower curtain below:
