Photocraft (ENG)
| Photocraft: Cool Things to Do With the Pictures You Love
ISBN-10: 0821261959 NLB Call No: English q745.5 HER -[REC] This is a very detailed book with useful and do-able projects that you can make with your favorite photographs. It touches on technical stuff like photo resolution to image-editing essentials, to materials in the form of recipes, as well as easy to understand instructions. My favorite project in this book is this shower curtain below: |
The Happy Hooker (Stitch ‘n Bitch Crochet) (ENG)
| The Happy Hooker (Stitch ‘n Bitch Crochet) by Debbie Stoller ISBN-10: 0761139850 NLB Call No: English 746.434 STO -[ART] Following the success of Stitch ‘N Bitch: The Knitter’s Handbook comes The Happy Hooker (Stich ‘n Bitch Crochet). I guess since the first book was so well-received, they’ve got more budget for this one and it now comes with more full-color pages than previously. I have to agree absolutely that knitters can crochet too, and vice versa because I’m a crochet-er who knits! (I’ll be venturing into knitting cables soon!!) |
For those interested in learning how to make amigurumis (Japanese term for crochet stuffies), you can also pick it up by reading this book. Although the English and Japanese patterns are quite different but at least you’ll get the basics.

| Alterknits: Imaginative Projects And Creativity Exercises
ISBN: 1584794550 NLB Call No: English q746.432041 RAD -[ART] This is a pretty book you’d want to add to your shelf with it’s nice fabric+paper cover, nice fonts, happy colors and an attractive model on the cover. It’s a pattern book and not a learn-how-to-knit book, so don’t be mistaken. It isn’t as comprehensive as Stitch ‘N Bitch: The Knitter’s Handbook but I love its Modern Bustier, Lace-up Fingerless Gloves, Paper Lanterns and Screen Door patterns; the latter two experiments with uncommon sources of yarns. |

And, a free knitting pattern of another pretty pair of fingerless gloves in a back issue of Knitty here.
