Hajimete no nuigurumi - usagi ・neko ・inu ・kuma
(Heart warming life series ― Start series)
ISBN: 4529039013

Alrighty, time to get back on track to my craft books reviews! This book is a beginner’s guide to making softies that are hug-worthy. The first half of the book is devoted purely to the making of the furry rabbit that you see on the first page inside the book. It is very clear and detailed with lots of photos and cute illustrations to follow through.

You may click on the thumbnails to view enlarged pictures of some pages I scanned.

This book comes with pattern sheets for you to zap and make your own bunnies, as well as variations to make your own cat, dog and bear softies. (I’m personally really only interested in the bunnies though.)

Recycling Polaroids

Recycled Polaroid

I got tempted to bring out my Holga Impulse after seeing Yen’s polaroids. Failed to capture Hikki under the 2feet minimum distance ($4 down the drain) and another useless photo of my Hello Kitty fabric (add $2). So I decided to recycle my polaroids by doing some magazine montage! All cut-outs from project smitten magazine #3. :)

Click on the thumbnails to view the other two montages I made as well as the original “bad photos”:

This is a very detailed book with useful and do-able projects that you can make with your favorite photographs. It touches on technical stuff like photo resolution to image-editing essentials, to materials in the form of recipes, as well as easy to understand instructions. My favorite project in this book is this shower curtain below:
