Poupeegirl FAQ
Websites February 8th, 2008
I introduced Jessie to Poupeegirl and she was telling me it took her awhile to figure out what’s going around the website despite the (loose) English translations so i decided to write this short FAQ.

First of all, what’s this Poupeegirl about? It’s a cute, Japanese avatar community where you earn ribbons to buy more stuff for your avatar. You can earn a random number of ribbons by uploading photos and you may only upload photos relating to fashion. You will also get ribbons for commenting on other people’s photos or getting comments for your photos. It’s a good way to keep a diary of what you’ve been buying but mostly, you’ll be addicted to virtual shopping!
MY HOME
This is pretty much a summary of everything that’s going on. You may click on the yellow bird flying around your avatar and you’ll see your MESSAGE BOAD (message board), which will show you if you’ve got any updates:

♥ New Messages
♥ Additional Ribbons
♥ New Poupee Item
♥ New Comment
♥ New Fan Poupee
MY CLOSET / Closet

Shows the latest photos that you’ve uploaded. A yellow rose shows that one or more person likes your photo. A ladybird shows that you’ve got one or more comments on that photo.
Snapshot Calendar / Snapshot

A button on the date shows that you’ve taken a snapshot on that day.
Favorite brands
This will show you the latest items uploaded for the brands that you’ve added to your favorites.
Poupee friends and Friend’s latest items
Your friends’ in Poupee and the latest photos they’ve uploaded.
Selling Avatar Items
Items that you are selling.
Cute Items
Your items with the most yellow roses (people like the photo).
Post Item
This is where you upload your photos and earn ribbons! I think you should only upload a maximum of 6 photos per day. Any additional photos won’t earn you anymore random ribbons or items.
Friends / Poupee Fan
A fan is someone who added you as a friend in Poupee. If you add that person too, she’ll be listed as your friend instead of fan.
Messages
Receive messages from the administrator or other Poupees.

Click on the orange button to sell your avatar items in the flea market. The headings and sub-headings for the other items are listed below:

Shells / Shell Spring

You get shells randomly when you upload photos or you may purchase them from the flea market (they sell for an average of 5-10 ribbons each). Once you’ve accumulated five or more shells, you may visit the Shell Spring (under community) and toss your shells in to receive a random Poupee item. Click on the orange button to toss them in one by one. You don’t need shells of the same design and I’ve tried throwing in 5 of the same shells but didn’t receive anything fantastic. ![]()

About
Under small articles, the ???? is ゛ぼうし”, hat in Japanese (but you probably already know by now). Just wanted to add to the article, it’s a great way to walk through many people who don’t speak/read Japanese! =]
Thanks, Rowena! I’ve updated the “???”.
