Arab Street & Haji Lane
Author, Shopping February 28th, 2008
Last Monday, Emily and I met at Lavender MRT Station for some shopping and exploring! She brought me to the Textile Centre for some cheap zippers available in every color! We bumped into her family and they treated me lunch, we even had tea together! After that, we trotted down to Arab Street!

Yup, Arab Street!

Do you know what’s inside these bottles?

Shop owner doing a cocktail?
Those are actually perfumes! Made of natural oils, I’m not sure if they’re essential oils, the shop owner can concoct store-brand perfumes like Chanel, Burberry, Nina Ricci or even Calvin Klein! There are a number of such shops on Arab Street and each vial costs only a couple of dollars.
Look what else we found!

Persica Salvadora Meswak Toothstick
The label was covered by some other knickknacks earlier until we discovered these “twigs and sticks” are actually toothbrushes! I told Emily that I’m not gonna stick that into my mouth after who knows how many unknowing tourists have been meddling with it with their dirty hands! Hahaha!
After that, we went over to Haji Lane which is just beside Arab Street where Emily spotted this regular sign turned funny, all with the addition of a woman in bikini standing next to it. :p

And we also found some adooooorable kittens! There were some gorgeous fat ginger cats in another shop but plain snobbish. These kittens were fun and so hyperactive! There’s only photo of one kitten because the rest of the photos are with Emily.

All the photos of the day were taken by Emily.
This is the second time I visited Haji Lane. The first time, my sister, Mich, brought me there. I think the next time, I shall venture the place alone since Mich is in Washington and Emily’s going back to Australia. :p No worries, they will all come back soon!
