Cooking Mama 2: Dinner with Friends

nobody said anything

I have almost completed all the dishes in Cooking Mama 2 and I’d say it’s more worthwhile playing than the first Cooking Mama (which was the first game I bugged my husband to buy for my DS). Lots of new recipes and new instructions on top of a couple of new features. Some of the original tasks have been modified to make it a little bit harder to get a Gold though it’s still a no-brainer for adults (but I like it).

Help! I’ve unlocked a lot of items but I can’t use them on Mama!
Actually, you can! And here’s how to do it. This is where the Write in Diary function comes in.

You can save an entry in your diary every time you complete a dish, whether you cook with Mama or cook for your friends. The key is to save an entry. After that, go back to the main screen and tap on Write in Diary and choose an entry you’ve just saved. Tap on the bottom screen again and you’ll get a Seal option on the bottom right. Tap on it and you’ll be able to add the items you’ve collected onto the picture just like this screenshot!

Japanese Q10 eye packs

nobody said anything

I bought these 2 different Japanese Q10 eye packs to try out recently and I must say I prefer Kose Cosmeport Clear Turn Eye Mask (left) to Nano’s Coenzyme Q10 Eye Pack (right).

First of all, Kose Cosmeport’s has a generous 18 pairs (36 sheets) whereas Nano’s has only 6 pairs (12 sheets). Kose Cosmeport’s comes in a mini wet-tissue-like packaging with a resealable opening where you retrieve 2 sheets, which resemble wet-tissues in the shape of eye mask cutouts. Nano’s comes in individual packs with a pair in each pack, it’s quite thick and has a sticky side where you apply to your under eyes and they’ll stay put. I personally feel that Kose Cosmeport’s work better and I do feel my under eyes are more hydrated after using it consecutively. The Nano ones, on the other hand, made my under eyes feel slightly suffocated under the thick sheets of stick-ons.

Just a note that there’s a tiny whiff of alcohol for the Kose Comeport Eye Mask but it goes away in a few seconds.

Verdict
Kose Cosmeport Eye Mask: Value for money
Nano Coenzyme Q10 Eye Pack: Doesn’t work for me

Stardust

nobody said anything

The husband took me to watch Stardust the other day, the first time we watched a movie as Mister and Missus. :)

Stardust

Stardust is a chick flick that doesn’t bore the guys. The film is well paced and its special effects are not overambitious. A complicated plot with a simple storyline: witches (Michelle Pfeiffer as Larnia) going after the heart of a fallen star (Claire Danes as Yvaine) who gets rescued by sky pirates (Robert De Niro as Captain Shakespeare), princes (Rupert Everett as Secundus) fighting for the throne, and a man (Charlie Cox as Tristan) who finds his true love.

Stardust
A “Titanic” moment?

Overall, a very strong cast. While Charlie Cox looks a tad young as Tristan to be matched with Claire Danes (I’ve never heard of him prior to Stardust but he looks promising enough to join the ranks of Elijah Wood), Michelle Pfeiffer still looks as hot without the leather, Robert De Niro is a classic and Rupert Everett ever charming.

Golden Compass on my next to-watch list (stars Nicole Kidman).

Oh by the way, the song at the credits is Rule The World by Take That.
